Health Care Assistants

Purpose of role;

To support customers to enjoy the best quality of life that they can in the comfort of their own homes. Compassion, good communication and organisational skills together with a calm and caring manner are vital for this important role in our company. Our Health Care Assistants provide 'well being' and 'physical' support to our Clients to help them maintain their independence at home. Typically carers will help with washing, dressing, getting up/going to bed, medication and other domestic tasks.

Task; examples -

* Personal care – washing, bathing clients

* Maintains a safe, secure, and clean client environment by following standards and procedures; changing linens, dusting, vacuuming; maintaining kitchen and bathroom facilities, handling personal laundry; maintaining security.
* Provides nutritious meals by  dietary requirements and nutrition standards; preparing, cooking, and serving meals and snacks.                     * Maintains continuity of client home care by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs in the clients journal for the next carer.

*Accompanying clients to appointments, Providing stabilisation and assistance with walking, Collecting prescriptions, Running errands

Skills/Qualifications:

Locations;

We are looking for full time carers in Lambeth, Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Central London, North London

FREE Training;

Care Certificate (National Award)  plus Diploma units for QCF 2 and 3.

2 day training in Dementia Awareness

3 day training in Learning Disabilities

Care Supervisor

Purpose of role

To support customers to enjoy the best quality of life that they can in the comfort of their own homes. Compassion, good communication and organisational skills together with a calm and caring manner are vital for this important role in our company.

The Candidate

Responsible for the development and supervision of the care team ensuring a high standard of care is delivered to all customers in the area. Effective implementation of customer care assessments, care & support plans, risk assessments and reviews.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in the monitoring of quality control procedures.
  • Carry out customer assessments prior to commencement of care services.
  • Attending customer's first call to introduce the care worker.
  • To be a part of the emergency on-call rota as and when required
  • Ensuring all emergency on-call issues are dealt with effectively e.g. covering calls either directly or indirectly when care workers are sick or absent. 
  • Recording all emergency calls and passing the information to appropriate parties.
  • Collection and distribution of MAR charts and other forms
  • To ensure work is allocated fairly and appropriately.
  • To work as part of the team delivering care to customers who otherwise would not receive a visit.
  • To attend customer reviews in the absence of the care manager.
  • To ensure that all changes to care schedules are reported without delay to the coordinators.
  • To maintain all reporting and recording procedures are up to date.
  • To liaise closely with coordinators, care manager, customers, care workers and external agencies
  • To assist in performance related matters when requested.
  • To attend all team meetings.
  • To assist in the implementation of any necessary changes to ensure a quality service is maintained
  • To ensure rigorous adherence to all Managing Care systems.
  • Preferred be a driver with use of a vehicle.

Care Coordinator

Managing Care are looking for an experienced Care Coordinator to work for their well-established domiciliary care company based at our branch in Putney.

Working within a busy, very friendly office environment coordinating care hours for a close knit care team. Managing Care provides support and assistance to people who wish to maintain an independent lifestyle in their own home.
You will be required to cover on-calls as part of the role:

  • 1 evening per week and 1 weekend in 4.
  • The hours of work are 8.30 to 5.30pm.

There will be many varying duties that you would be required to undertake including:

  • To assist in the day to day coordination of the care hours including arranging for emergency cover when required.
  • Allocating care staff & ensuring rotas' are in order, completed and sent out in ample time.
  • Provide excellent levels of customer service at all times – answering phones and communicating to all our clients and carers.
  • Time management and organisational skills are essential to ensure you meet the targets set to you.

Essential Candidate Attributes:

  • Min 1 year experience in home care as a care coordinator specifically within domiciliary care and feel confident in covering 1000 care hours per week.
  • Working towards NVQ level 2
  • Have strong communication, administration skills, thrives on multi-tasking
  • Have the ability to cope under pressure towards deadlines
  • StaffPlan experience an advantage
  • Electronic Call Monitoring experience an advantage.
  • Do you have previous homecare coordinator experience?

  • Do you have experience of using staffplan software?

  • Do you have experience of electronic call monitoring?

  • Do you have social care qualification to NVQ2 or equvalent?

  • Are you available within 4weeks or sooner if successful?
